lbMask makes a bit mask, which is a contiguous sequence of 1-bits embedded within 0-bits. lbMask is analogous to bMask, except that its result is a LONG BITS instead of a BITS. See Section 31.9 for a description of bMask.
A garbage collection cannot occur during a call to lbMask.
