$removeWord first removes leading tab and blank characters from s. It then removes all characters up to the next blank, tab, end-of-page, carriage return, and linefeed (or end of STRING); these characters constitute the “word”. It then removes any additional leading blank, tab, end-of-line, and end-of-page characters from s, and returns the word.
