1. Introduction

This document describes the MAINSAIL implementation for Microsoft's Windows on Pentium. MAINSAIL supports only one platform on this operating system; that platform is Microsoft's Windows NT on Pentium. This platform is also referred to in this document using the abbreviation NTPNT.

As of the time of this writing, MAINSAIL will run only on NT Version 4.0 or later, or on Windows 2000.

As of the time of this writing, MAINSAIL is not (and is not expected to be) available for Windows 95 or Windows 98.

This document describes only NTPNT-specific MAINSAIL features. It assumes that the reader is familiar with the MAINSAIL Language Manual and other machine-independent MAINSAIL documentation.

1.1. Version

This version of the User's Guide for MAINSAIL on Microsoft's Windows on Pentium is current as of the proposed Version 16.30.1 of MAINSAIL (which has not yet been released).

This document is preliminary. Its contents have been updated to include information about the proposed 16.30.1 release, but the document has not been thoroughly proofread. Please contact XIDAK if you have any questions concerning this document or if you find any errors in it.
