F. XIDAK STREAMS Applications and Utilities

This appendix describes software written by XIDAK that uses STREAMS but is not necessarily part of the STREAMS package. Contact XIDAK for further information.

F.1. Orion Database Management System

The Orion database management system is a relational database system for distributed heterogeneous computing environments. For more information on Orion, contact XIDAK for the relevant documentation.

F.2. Network File Access: `NET` Device `MODULE`

The MAINSAIL device MODULE NET allows a MAINSAIL program to access files on other systems as if the files were local. It works by talking to a server process (gensrv) on the remote system. Refer to Appendix E for more information.

F.3. Network Server Status: `SRVINF`

The SRVINF utility reports on the status of the XIDAK gensrv server on the hosts whose names the user supplies. SRVINF prompts for a line of host names and prints a summary of the current connections to the hosts.

F.4. MAINSAIL Kermit

MAINKERMIT, a MAINSAIL implementation of the Kermit file transfer program, is shipped with MAINSAIL systems containing STREAMS. Source code and documentation for it are available on request from XIDAK.
